About Me: My Personal Journey and Why This Hub Matters

Hi, I'm the creator of Homeless Support Hub. I've faced homelessness, joblessness, and drug addiction—not from selfishness, greed, or stupidity, but from tough circumstances and systemic barriers that hit harder than I could handle at the time.

Even in my darkest moments, I stayed compassionate and resourceful, sharing what little I had. Now, I'm sober, housed, and employed, but I’ll never forget the cold nights, rejected job applications, or the fight to stay strong. That’s why I built this hub—a lifeline I wish I’d had, for people like us.

In 2025, over 771,000 Americans are homeless, a 18% rise from recent years.6 That’s 1 in 588 people on the streets or in shelters, struggling with rising rents and limited resources.92 This hub is my way of helping you find shelter, food, jobs, and income opportunities, no matter the barriers. If it helps even one person avoid my struggles or recover faster, it’s worth everything.

You’re not alone, and you’re stronger than you know. Let’s turn survival into thriving—together.

Create Your Own Hub: Free for Anyone to Use

Anyone, especially those in the homeless community, can copy this website’s code, add your own story and affiliate links, and build a resource hub to help others while earning income. I designed this to be shared, even if you have no money, tech skills, or permanent address. Here’s how to start.

Why Build Your Own Hub?

  • Earn Income: Affiliate links (e.g., Namecheap, Amazon) can pay $10-100 per sale, funding food or rent deposits.2
  • Learn Skills: Editing and hosting a site builds digital skills for jobs (see Employment).
  • Help Your Community: Share local resources and your story to support the 771,000+ unhoused in 2025.6

Simple Steps to Start (Free, 10-15 Minutes)

  1. Copy the Code: Save this site’s files (index.html, popup.css, popup.js, sw.js, manifest.json) using a library computer or phone. Edit free at CodePen.
  2. Add Your Affiliate Links: Join free programs: Namecheap ($0.88 domains), ResellersPanel ($1/month hosting), Amazon Associates. Replace placeholders like YOUR_AFF_ID_HERE. Use a shelter address or prepaid card (e.g., Green Dot, $3 at Walmart) for payouts.10
  3. Make It Yours: Update About Me with your story. Add local shelters/food banks to Shelter or Food via 211.org.
  4. Host for Free: Upload to Netlify (drag-and-drop, free) or GitHub Pages. Use a free subdomain (e.g., yourname.netlify.app) or $0.88 .com at Namecheap.2
  5. Share It: Post on X (use library Wi-Fi) or print QR codes via QRCodeMonkey (free) for shelters.15

No Money? No Problem!

  • No Device? Use free library computers or shelter tech centers (find via feedingamerica.org).5
  • No Tech Skills? This code is ready-to-use. Get free help at library workshops (search “[city] free tech training”).
  • No Bank Account? Use PayPal or prepaid cards for affiliate payouts.10

Stay Legal

You can freely copy and edit this code for personal or non-commercial use. Disclose affiliate links (already in the code) per FTC rules.26 Don’t claim ties to HUD or 211 unless authorized. Use Termly.io for a free privacy policy. Create icons at Canva or Flaticon (free with credit).

My Promise: I’ve been homeless and know the struggle. This hub is yours to use, share, and grow to lift others up. Need help? Email support@homelesssupporthub.com or ask at a library.
